Energy Chakras

Chakras are an ancient energy system that originated in India, and with the expansion of New Age beliefs and technologies, they are becoming more well-known today. Chakra, or “wheel,” refers to the seven main energy points in our bodies thought to be spinning disks of energy. The chakras run along our spine and correspond to the nerves, major organs and other areas that affect our emotional and physical well-being. Each of the seven chakras has a corresponding name and color, from the base of your spine (the root) to the top of the head (the crown).

Root Chakra: Located at the lowest base of the spine or tailbone area. The color is red and is associated with physical identity, stability and grounding. An open and aligned root chakra promotes the feeling of security and physical and emotional wellbeing.

Sacral Chakra: Located just below the belly button, above the pubic bone. The color is orange and is associated with sexuality, pleasure and creativity. An open and aligned sacral chakra promotes feelings of self-worth with ourselves and others. 

Solar Plexus Chakra: Located in the upper abdomen, stomach area. The color is yellow and is associated with self-esteem and confidence. An open and aligned solar plexus chakra promotes feelings of personal power, courage and self-confidence. 

Heart Chakra: Located in the center of the chest, your heart area and bridges the gap between our upper and lower chakras. The color is green and is associated with love, truth and compassion. An open and aligned heart chakra promotes our ability to love and connect with others. 

Throat Chakra: Located at the throat. The color is blue and is associated with communication and honesty. An open and aligned throat chakra promotes confidence with verbal communications when speaking your truth, listening with compassion. 

Third Eye Chakra: Located on the forehead area between the eyes. The color is indigo and is associated with intuition and imagination. An open and aligned third eye chakra is associated with self-reflection, wisdom and the ability to see the bigger picture.

Crown Chakra: Located at the very top of your head. The color is violet and is associated with enlightenment and spirituality. An open and aligned crown chakra brings peace, gratitude and clarification to your life’s purpose.
